Press Statement

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to bring CT5 Pride CIC to a close.

This decision has not been taken lightly. CT5 Pride was established with the aim of creating a positive, inclusive and community-led space for LGBTQ+ people and allies in our local area. We remain incredibly proud of the vision behind the organisation and of all that was done to lay its foundations.

However, over time it has become clear that, without sufficient volunteer capacity and wider community involvement, we are not able to continue the organisation in a way that is sustainable or consistent with the ambitions we had for it.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who supported CT5 Pride, whether by encouraging the project, giving their time, sharing ideas or simply believing in the importance of local Pride and LGBTQ+ visibility. Your support has been genuinely appreciated.

Although CT5 Pride is closing, we remain hopeful that the spirit of inclusion, visibility and community connection it sought to champion will continue in other ways across Whitstable, Tankerton and the wider area.
